Candidate must have solid experience in operations of a logistics company, ideally a surface transportation/trucking company with good knowledge of the market, vendor procurement, rate negotiation, route optimization, transporter onboarding and who has a strong vendor base in/around Ahmedabad.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Finding vendors and creating a strong vendor base for hiring vehicles in the allocated area
- Creating a database of vendors for all different variants of vehicles to meet the vehicles requirement for all orders received/assigned to the branch
- Manage vehicle placement at point of loading
- Coordinate with client dispatch team to ensure vehicle placement and loading is executed efficiently
- Responsible for co-ordination for payment to vendors
- POD Collection and submission at main branch
- Vehicle transit and tracking management
